A Symbiotic History: Venom, Carnage, and the Hatred Between Them
Before they became bitter enemies, Venom and Carnage were part of the same twisted symbiotic family tree — but their paths couldn’t be more different.
Venom, the original alien symbiote, first bonded with Spider-Man, enhancing his powers before being rejected. That rejection twisted Venom’s perspective, and after joining with disgraced reporter Eddie Brock, Venom became an anti-hero fueled by resentment and a dark sense of justice.
Then came Carnage — born when Venom’s symbiote spawned and merged with Cletus Kasady, a deranged serial killer. Unlike Venom, Carnage lacks any moral compass. He’s pure chaos, reveling in destruction for its own sake. The bond between Kasady and the Carnage symbiote is deeper, more violent, and more unstable than anything before it.
Their hatred is personal. Venom sees Carnage as a mistake — a monstrous extension of himself that needs to be stopped. Carnage sees Venom as weak for clinging to humanity.
Every time they meet, it’s more than a fight — it’s a war between order and chaos, control and madness, vengeance and violence.
That energy is what Ryan Pasibe captures so brilliantly in “Venom vs. Carnage” — not just a physical fight, but a clash of ideology, legacy, and bloodline.
Symbiote Warfare, Illustrated
Every inch of this piece pulses with conflict — from the rippling muscle of Venom’s stance to the slashing, tendril-filled chaos of Carnage’s counterattack.
Ryan Pasibe delivers a masterclass in comic-style illustration, blending raw emotion with fluid movement. The sharp contrast, bold anatomy, and symbiotic energy exploding off the page make this more than a fight — it's a moment of storytelling.
